Wild Nature and Being Human ✨

Published about 2 months ago • 1 min read

Hello Reader,

The wildness of spring is alive and well here in Colorado. A few days ago, we were buried in snow, and now, as the snow recedes, bulbs are showing their head, plants are greening, trees are starting to bud, and I am reminded that spring feels like the true "new year" to me. I feel alive and inspired as the wild world around me stirs from its winter sleep.

These spring feelings have been with me for as long as I can remember. Even as a child, I delighted in witnessing the heavy, wet snowstorms so common in March in Colorado, the spring emergence of plants, the increased activity of birds and squirrels, and a general sense of life moving into high gear.

Reflecting on my journey and that of my clients and program participants, I often see threads of what we love, resonate with, and feel passionate about as adults beginning in our earlier days. I know this is very true for me. My first best friend was my dog, Jenny. My childhood involved camping in the Rocky Mountains as our primary vacation. Even though I complained mercilessly about camping with my family in my teen years (I am sure I was not fun to camp with!), I can see now how these early experiences have woven their way into my life and work today.

In this month's Robust Lifestyle podcast, we explore this very topic. We explore the beautiful threads of nature connection that weave our lives together and consider ways to reflect on where we want our nature connection journeys to go in the future.

I hope you enjoy it!

In wildness,
